The Neptun Deep project is advancing: OMV Petrom is starting the works on the offshore pipeline for the gases from the Black Sea

OMV Petrom has started work on the Neptun Deep offshore pipeline, a strategic project for Romania, aimed at ensuring the energy security of the region. The project involves investments of approximately 4 billion euros and will produce about 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually.

Castoro 10, the first vessel from the necessary fleet, has arrived in Romania to install the first section of the pipeline, using a microtunnel built in Tuzla to minimize environmental impact. This year's work will involve a fleet of about 50 vessels, of which 10 will be dedicated to pipeline installation.

The pipeline will be 160 km long and will transport natural gas from the production platform to the shore, where it will be integrated into the National Transport System. The Neptun Deep infrastructure includes the offshore platform, submarine systems, production wells, and the measurement station in Tuzla, with the aim of starting production in 2027.
