PSD Deputy Mihai Fifor criticized the label of "former PSD senator" applied to Marius Isăilă, involved in a corruption scandal. Fifor explained that Isăilă was expelled from PSD in 2014, immediately after the DNA began criminal proceedings against him. After his expulsion, Isăilă joined UNPR, where he served as a senator until his final conviction. In the recent context of Isăilă's re-arrest for attempted influence peddling, Fifor requested that the term "former PSD senator" no longer be used, arguing that it does not reflect reality. The DNA announced that Isăilă promised one million euros to the Minister of Defense, Ionuț Moșteanu, to influence contracts with Romtehnica. Moșteanu stated that he refused any meeting with Isăilă and that he supports the authorities in clarifying the situation.
