Lia Olguța Vasilescu, the social-democrat mayor of Craiova, stated that PSD has 'no collaboration problems' with PNL, only with Ilie Bolojan, the former governor dismissed through the PSD-AUR no-confidence motion. Vasilescu emphasizes that PSD wants a parliamentary majority with pro-European parties and will not force anyone to join the government.

In the context in which PNL and USR announced that they are going into opposition, Vasilescu believes that PNL mayors will not accept this decision. She mentioned that Sorin Grindeanu is the PSD candidate for the position of prime minister and that the party is open to taking over the government. In conclusion, PSD aims to collaborate with European parties, but it remains to be seen how political negotiations will evolve in the upcoming period.
