Kelemen Hunor, the leader of UDMR, stated that he excludes the option of a technocratic government, arguing that it will not function and will be abandoned by all parties. He emphasized that his preferred option is the restoration of the coalition with a transparent majority, similar to the previous one.
Hunor mentioned that if PNL and PSD maintain the current decisions, it will be difficult to rebuild the old coalition. He highlighted the importance of a prime minister accepted by all parties, who has the capacity to manage political and budgetary crises. Kelemen Hunor stated that a minority government could be a solution, but it requires the votes of other parties, which is problematic in the current context. He rejected the idea of a PSD-UDMR coalition, emphasizing that there is no majority in this regard.
The UDMR leader's comments regarding a possible technocratic government come after President Nicușor Dan stated that the possibility of forming a technocratic government "is a scenario that has chances" , suggesting his openness to this option.
