Veterinary doctors from Romania and Ukraine gathered on Wednesday in Murighiol, Tulcea County, for a hybrid training organized within the project 'Development of screening and monitoring systems for emerging diseases and prevention of cross-border epidemics in the current context'.
The project, funded by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A NEXT Romania-Ukraine 2021-2027 Program, has a budget of 418,063.41 euros and aims to modernize veterinary sanitary laboratories and train personnel.
The director of DSVSA, Dragoș Seucan, emphasized the importance of cross-border collaboration in preventing emerging diseases, mentioning that wildlife and domestic animals are biological vectors without borders.
The project also aims to increase awareness of epidemiological risks and strengthen cooperation between Romania and Ukraine, promoting the One Health approach.
The seminar was also attended by representatives of the State Agrarian University of Odessa, as well as students from Tulcea.
