The National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) negotiated an agreement in Ankara to facilitate the transit of sheep and cattle carcasses from Romania through Turkey, with a view to transporting them to markets in the Middle East.

The president of ANSVSA, Alexandru Nicolae Bociu, participated in the Romanian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Tánczos Barna, who made a working visit from August 5-6.

The technical discussions focused on sanitary-veterinary regulations for the export of carcasses and the importance of institutional cooperation in preventing health risks. Opportunities for expanding trade exchanges were also analyzed, highlighting Turkey's interest in Romanian agri-food products.

Cooperation tools were established to reduce the risks of border blockages and to harmonize food safety standards.
