The Sector 6 City Hall has announced the start of the procedures for the extension of Metro Line 3 towards Chiajna and Bragadiru, in collaboration with Metrorex, the Ministry of Transport, and the Bucharest City Hall. Acting Mayor Paul Moldovan emphasized the necessity of this project to meet the mobility needs of residents in Sector 6, especially in the context of increasing traffic. The extension will include eight new stations, and the works will take place in several sections: from the Păcii station to the A1 Highway, from the Preciziei station towards Militari Residence, and from Preciziei towards the Latin neighborhood in Bragadiru. The documentation for the feasibility study will be prepared by the Sector 6 City Hall, and the funding will come from the Metrorex budget, non-reimbursable funds, and other sources. The project aims to unblock traffic and reduce pollution in the area.
