Sector 6 City Hall is preparing a project to build a new road that would provide direct access to the A1 Motorway from the Preciziei Street area and reduce congestion on Iuliu Maniu Boulevard. The project is being developed together with Chiajna Commune City Hall.
The new route would be built near the overpass above the Bucharest Ring Road and would connect Preciziei Street with the road near the ring railway, running parallel to the DNCB. This would mean drivers would no longer have to turn back onto Iuliu Maniu Boulevard to reach the motorway.
Sector 6 Mayor Paul Moldovan says the investment could distribute traffic more efficiently and provide an alternative for drivers travelling on Osiei and Roții streets. The objective is to reduce bottlenecks and improve traffic flow in the western part of the capital.
The feasibility study is due to be submitted for approval to the Sector 6 Local Council at its next meeting. At the same time, the administration is continuing its project for a bicycle lane on Preciziei Street, which would connect Parcul Liniei with the bicycle lanes on Iuliu Maniu Boulevard.
