Two proposed bills by parliamentarians Raluca Turcan (PNL) and Diana Stoica (USR) aim to protect young people from the negative effects of gambling. The first bill provides for the prohibition of participation in gambling for individuals under 21 years of age, considering the vulnerability of young people to addiction. Studies show that 1 in 4 adolescents has gambled on gaming machines before the age of 18, and the brains of young people are not fully developed, making them more prone to impulsivity.

The second bill regulates gambling advertising, prohibiting the broadcasting of online ads between 06:00 and 24:00, when young people are active on social media. It also prohibits the involvement of influencers and public figures in promoting gambling, to prevent the normalization of this behavior. The bills also include the obligation for operators to display warning messages about the risks of addiction. These measures are inspired by examples from other countries that have successfully implemented similar policies.
