In Wednesday's meeting, the local councilors from Ploiești unanimously voted for the ban on slot machine gambling halls within the municipality. Mayor Mihai Polițeanu expressed gratitude to the people of Ploiești and the councilors for supporting this project, emphasizing that the goal is to cleanse the city of the underworld atmosphere associated with these games. The project was debated three times in the local council, with the first two attempts being blocked due to a lack of necessary approvals. The ban will allow only the organization of lottery games conducted by the Romanian Lottery and sports betting exclusively in the existing spaces at the Hippodrome. This measure is part of a broader initiative to improve safety and quality of life in Ploiești.
