The dismantling of the boats in Constanța has begun, and these, placed two decades ago at the entrances of the city, are now heading to scrap. The authorities consider that the boats, over 50 years old and extremely corroded, pose a danger to safety. Locals watch this process with nostalgia, remembering the times when these vessels were used by the Border Police and later displayed as maritime symbols. The boats, built in the '70s, were retired in the 2000s and placed in the city, but now they are affected by rust and require maintenance. The Constanța City Hall has announced that their removal will be carried out by the buyer within 90 days of signing the contracts. Locals express their desire for the boats to remain as memories, emphasizing their importance in the city's history.
