The Minister of Defense, Ionuț Moșteanu, announced that he will come to Parliament to clarify details about the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Romania, when the Prime Minister's agenda allows. He assured that Romania's defense is not vulnerable, having the support of NATO allies, who are active in the country, including through the organization of the NATO Industry Forum, with over 900 participants. Moșteanu emphasized that defense does not depend only on the number of troops but also on military capabilities and cooperation within the alliance.
He also mentioned that Romania is investing in defense, with a GDP allocation of 2.3% for this year, and emphasized the need for all European countries to strengthen their armies. Moșteanu expressed the desire for the troops to remain in Romania, highlighting that the signals sent by the current administration have been clear regarding the need to better prepare for defense.
