CNAIR announced on Wednesday the winner of the awarding procedure for the contract to develop the Feasibility Study for the new Giurgiu–Ruse 2 cross-border bridge, which will connect Romania and Bulgaria.
The auction was won by Egis Romania, with a bid of 50.04 million lei. The Feasibility Study must be completed within 23 months from the signing of the contract, which will be financed from non-reimbursable European funds through the CEF2 program – Military Mobility Component. The general director of CNAIR, Cristian Pistol, emphasized that the bridge will have a dual character, both civil and military, facilitating road and rail transport.
The signing of the contract can take place after 10 days, in the absence of challenges.
