The National Company CFR SA has signed a contract with PORR Construct SRL for the design and execution of works on lot 5 Băile Herculane-Poarta, part of the rehabilitation of the railway line Craiova – Drobeta Turnu Severin – Caransebeș.

The National Company CFR SA has signed a contract with PORR Construct SRL for the design and execution of works on lot 5 Băile Herculane-Poarta, part of the rehabilitation of the railway line Craiova – Drobeta Turnu Severin – Caransebeș. The value of the contract is approximately 2.1 billion lei, and the funding comes from the Transport Program 2021-2027 and the state budget. The project, which lasts 60 months, aims to modernize the railway infrastructure, including electrification and the introduction of modern installations, to improve Romania's economic competitiveness. The maximum speed of the trains will be 100 km/h.
