The Brașov City Hall has submitted a request to access European funding of over 86 million lei, intended for the closure of an industrial waste dump located near a household waste dump, the closure of which has recently begun. After the completion of the closure of both dumps in the Triaj area, the City Hall intends to transform the 20-hectare land into a green recreational area. Mayor George Scripcaru emphasized that, although the closure of the dump should have taken place earlier, the project has been resumed with the aim of creating a park for the residents of Brașov. The project, with an eligible value of 86.48 million lei, includes the planting of 16,500 trees and shrubs for soil stabilization. The industrial waste dump was closed about 10 years ago, having a total volume of 2.2 million cubic meters of waste.
