The Brașov City Hall has announced a project of 303,000 lei for the implementation of a GPS system that will facilitate the management of information about the 41,000 graves in the city.

The funds will be used for software that will centralize data about the buried individuals, concessionaires, contracts, and payments, in a database linked to a digital map. The winning company will verify and process the existing information, ensuring that each grave is correctly positioned on the map. The new system will help relatives quickly find burial sites, reducing the time spent in large cemeteries.

It is also expected that QR codes will be introduced on monuments, providing quick access to information. The project will also include online services for consulting information about graves, being especially useful for families who do not live in Brașov. The implementation of the system is estimated to take 90 days from the awarding of the contract.
