The Municipality of Bucharest has announced the mobilization of private resources for the revitalization of Herăstrău Park, with investments of 900,000 euros already allocated and a target of 10 million euros from companies and donors.
At the largest consultation dedicated to the park, 9,780 participants indicated priorities such as more public toilets (85.5%), dense vegetation (78.6%), and the rehabilitation of paths (77.9%). Cleaning and reinforcement works on the lake's banks have begun, considering their deterioration. The general mayor, Ciprian Ciucu, emphasized the need for a detailed assessment of the park and promised uniform and quality urban furniture.
Urgent interventions target paths affected by erosion, and rehabilitation works will be carried out in stages, aiming to transform Herăstrău into a park worthy of the capital of Romania by 2026.
