On Wednesday night, the central headquarters of the extremist party AUR in Bucharest was vandalized by two young people, who wrote graffiti on the building and destroyed banners featuring the images of Romanian rulers. AUR published a video on its Facebook page, showing the actions of the vandals. The party condemned the vandalism, stating that it is not an act of courage, but a crime that destroys democracy. AUR leaders suggest that the attacks are the result of incitement to hatred from other political parties and warn that such behaviors could lead to extreme violence, similar to incidents in the USA. The messages written by the vandals include anti-communist and antifascist expressions, highlighting the political tensions in Romania. The former AUR candidate for the Capital City Hall, Mihai Enache, emphasized that the hatred and fear propagated in society can turn against those who generate them.
