AUR Deputy Dan Tănasă is being investigated for incitement to hatred, after he urged Romanians to refuse orders delivered by foreign couriers. AUR believes that the case represents an abuse.

The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) announced on Friday that deputy Dan Tănasă is facing a criminal case handled by the Prosecutor's Office for incitement to hatred. He is being investigated for a message posted on Facebook in August 2025, in which he urged Romanians to refuse orders delivered by couriers from other countries, especially from Asia and Africa. The National Council for Combating Discrimination (CNCD) has taken notice following Tănasă's statements, and PNL deputy Alexandru Muraru has filed a criminal complaint against him. AUR claims that the criminal case is an abuse meant to punish a parliamentarian for expressing a public position.

In AUR's statement, it is asserted that Tănasă has drawn attention to issues related to the uncontrolled import of unskilled labor, emphasizing that authorities should discuss these realities, not investigate those who signal them. AUR demands an end to abuses against its representatives and respect for the right of parliamentarians to discuss issues relevant to Romania.
