The north and east of Tulcea County were once again targeted by an air-raid alert on the night of Thursday to Friday, after the forces of the Russian Federation continued attacks on Ukrainian ports on the Danube.
The National Military Command Center notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, and the authorities sent a RO-Alert message to the population in the affected areas. The alert was issued at 00:19 and ended at 00:41.
The Ministry of National Defence states that, during the incident, no incursions into national airspace were reported. The message sent to the population was intended to warn residents about the risks associated with attacks carried out near Romania’s border.
The Russian attacks targeted Ukrainian port infrastructure on the Danube, as settlements and facilities in southern Ukraine are frequently exposed to military operations. Romanian authorities are monitoring the situation in the border area and maintaining alert measures whenever there are risks to the population.
