RO-Alert message issued in the north of Tulcea County amid intense drone activity near the border with Romania / Two Spanish F-18 aircraft took off for monitoring

Romanian authorities issued, at 04:41, a RO-Alert message for the population in northern Tulcea County, following reports of intense aerial activity near the border with Romania. The alert was triggered by information transmitted by the Ukrainian Air Force, which reported several groups of attack drones coming from the direction of the Black Sea and heading toward the Odesa region.

The National Military Command Center notified the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations. To monitor the situation, two F-18 aircraft of the Spanish Air and Space Force took off from the Mihail Kogălniceanu 57th Air Base. The aircraft were on combat duty for Enhanced Air Policing.

According to the Ministry of National Defence, no incursions into national airspace were reported. The air alert ended at 05:44.

In Ukraine, authorities repeatedly reported during the morning drones moving toward the southern part of the Odesa region, in the Tatarbunary area, near Chilia Veche.

The attacks and aerial activity were monitored throughout the night from Wednesday to Thursday.
