Cristian Pistol, the general director of CNAIR, announced on Facebook that the physical progress of the Suplacu de Barcău - Chiribiş section of the Transylvania Highway is nearing 80%, with chances of opening traffic by the end of the year. The contractor, Construcţii Erbaşu, is mobilizing 610 workers and 268 machines on the 26.35 km of the section. At the bridge over Lake Suplacu de Barcău, the progress has reached 97%, and at the viaduct over Valea Saldabagiului, it is at 85%.
The works include the application of waterproofing, asphalting, and the installation of guardrails. The contract is valued at 884 million lei, and the objective is to open 72 km of A3, thus reaching 204 km completed out of a total of 269 km between Târgu Mureş and Borş. Pistol emphasizes the importance of these works for the economic development of Romania.
