CNAIR announces progress of over 60% on the A7 Bacău–Pașcani Motorway and the opening of at least 49 kilometers this year

Construction on the approximately 77 kilometres of the A7 Bacău–Pașcani Motorway has exceeded an overall physical completion rate of 60%, according to Cristian Pistol, director general of CNAIR. Romanian contractor UMB has deployed approximately 5,500 workers and more than 500 pieces of equipment on the site.

Significant progress has been recorded in Bacău County, at the overpass crossing the railway and DN2 in the Filipești area, as well as at the nearby interchange. Asphalt has already been laid along a large part of the route.

CNAIR estimates that at least 49 kilometres of the A7 Moldavia Motorway, between Bacău and Mircești, could open to traffic this year. If construction continues according to schedule, drivers will be able to travel continuously on the motorway northward, from Bacău to the Mircești area.

However, the opening of the final section, Mircești–Pașcani, depends on the completion and testing of the safety and monitoring systems. Cristian Pistol stated that the section will open to traffic only after every kilometre has been inspected and the equipment validated, rather than solely according to the calendar deadline.
