Ioan Ovidiu Sabău, at the age of 58, has been appointed head coach of the Farul Constanța team, more than half a year after leaving U Cluj. The club officially announced his appointment after Flavius Stoican was dismissed following a disappointing tenure. Sabău, a former Romanian international and member of the "Golden Generation", has extensive experience as a coach, having in his record teams such as Gaz Metan Mediaș and Poli Timișoara.
At Farul, he will have a salary of 25,000 euros per month, with the possibility of receiving bonuses based on performance. Internal tensions within the club have recently increased, and Ciprian Marica criticized the management for the lack of consultation in choosing the coach. It remains to be seen how the new management will influence the atmosphere within the team.
