FCSB officially introduced Laurențiu Reghecampf

Laurențiu Reghecampf was appointed FCSB head coach on Thursday, returning for the third time to the technical leadership of the Bucharest-based club. He takes over the team after the contract of Marius Baciu and his staff was terminated, at a difficult point in the season.

The announcement was made by FCSB president Mihai Stoica at a press conference. Reghecampf said the first objective was to win the next match and regain the players’ confidence. The coach added that he wanted the team to recover its strength and fight for trophies.

In the current league season, after 10 rounds, FCSB are 11th in the SuperLiga, with 12 points from three wins, three draws and four defeats. The appointment comes shortly after the 5-0 defeat by Universitatea Craiova, following which Gigi Becali had announced the coach’s return.

Viorel Dinu, assistant coach, and Adrian Popa, fitness coach, will be part of the new staff. Reghecampf will also work with Lucian Filip, Alin Stoica, Thomas Neubert, Marius Popa and Ionuț Zottu. He was most recently coach of Tunisian club Esperance Sportive Tunis and is a two-time Romanian champion with Steaua.
