David Popovici, registered with CS Dinamo Bucharest, managed to qualify for the final of the 100 meters freestyle at the Settecolli Trophy in Rome, a day after winning silver in the 50 meters freestyle event. The athlete finished the heats with a time of 47.72 seconds, demonstrating an excellent performance. In the final, he will fight for a new medal, considering his good form. Additionally, Eric Ștefan Andrieș, the other Romanian in the 100 meters freestyle event, finished 4th in the fifth heat, with a time of 50.14 seconds. On the same day, Denis Popescu secured 3rd place in the 100 meters backstroke, qualifying for the B final with a time of 55.44 seconds. Alexandru Constantinescu did not participate in the announced event.
