Constantin Popovici finished third in the 2026 Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, following the final event held in Polignano a Mare, Italy. Cătălin Preda, the European high diving champion, finished the season in sixth place after not competing in the final due to an injury.
Popovici was in contention for the title ahead of the final event, but finished third in Polignano a Mare with 378.75 points. The Romanian performed a final dive with a degree of difficulty of 5.7, scored at 128.25 points. He won two events this season and reached the podium twice more.
Victory in the Italian event went to Ukraine's Oleksiy Prygorov, followed by American James Lichtenstein. Britain's Aidan Heslop won the overall standings with 78 points, ahead of Lichtenstein with 73 and Popovici with 68. Preda accumulated 32 points.
Romania is the only country with two athletes in the top six.
