Romania won eight medals at the Balkan Rowing Championships, including four gold medals

Romania won eight medals at the Balkan Rowing Championships: four gold, one silver and three bronze. Of the ten Romanian crews qualified for the finals, eight reached the podium, according to the Romanian Rowing Federation.

The gold medals were won in the coxless pairs event for senior women by Teodora Sandu and Maya Renata Bumbac, in a time of 7:27.93, and in the double sculls event for senior women by Gabriela Costinela Ursu and Andreea Măriuca Dumitrașcu, in a time of 7:13.65.

Romania also prevailed in the senior men’s eight-plus event, with a time of 5:46.17, as well as in the mixed senior eight-plus event, where the Romanian crew finished the race in 6:06.27.

In the other finals, the Romanian athletes finished fifth in the coxless four event for junior men and sixth in the coxless pairs event for junior men, with a time of 7:35.18. The Romanian Rowing Federation congratulated the athletes, coaches and staff members for their results and for representing Romania.
