The club from Gruia had received a transfer ban from FIFA due to debts, but the sanction was lifted on Monday, September 7, precisely on the last day when teams could make transfers.

CFR Cluj took full advantage of the lifting of the transfer ban and announced no fewer than 8 players on the final day of the transfer window.

CFR Cluj announced at midnight its eighth signing completed within a few hours, that of Belgian striker Jelani Dumas, brought in from Benfica, according to the Facebook page of the Gruia-based club.

On Monday, CFR Cluj registered seven other players: goalkeeper Arpad Tordai, defenders Iva Ghelaşvili and Leo Saca, midfielders Adi Nalic and Ervin Omic, and forwards Sergiu Buş and Billel Omrani.
