Transelectrica announced that the main objective of the project is the construction of a 400 kV interconnection power line, which will connect the Republic of Moldova to the European electricity transport and system network. This interconnection will bring significant benefits, including increased security in electricity supply by improving interoperability and coordinated operation of the energy systems in the two countries, thus facilitating cross-border energy exchanges. The contract for the Romanian section of the Suceava-Bălți power line was signed in March and has a value of over 130 million Romanian lei, with an estimated execution duration of 52 months. The project is part of a broader strategic plan, Gădălin - Suceava - Bălți, aimed at strengthening the energy interconnection between Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
