TikTok is launching a set of measures to protect users in Moldova ahead of parliamentary elections, including an Election Center in partnership with the Central Electoral Commission.

In preparation for the September 28 parliamentary elections, TikTok has created a group called the Mission Control Center, which brings together local and international experts in cybersecurity and countering disinformation. The platform launched an Election Center, available in the app, to provide trusted information about the election process, including voter registration. TikTok will label relevant content and offer 'verified account' badges to combat misinformation, as Moldovan authorities have called for the blocking of more than 440 channels suspected of spreading false information.
