The Paris Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into TikTok, following allegations that the platform promotes suicide through its algorithms. Deputy Arthur Delaporte alerted the authorities, stating that TikTok endangers the health of young users. The investigation could lead to a ban on access to social networks for individuals under 15 years old and nighttime restrictions for those between 15 and 18 years old. The parliamentary committee emphasized that TikTok provides harmful content, and its algorithms can amplify risks for vulnerable users. TikTok has denied the allegations, stating that it implements security measures for teenagers. The investigation targets possible crimes related to the promotion of suicide and the use of the platform for illicit activities. Authorities are collaborating with various institutions to address these emerging issues in the digital field.
