On October 21, TikTok presented a report on the measures taken to protect the integrity of the platform during the parliamentary elections in Moldova, held on September 28. The company dismantled five networks promoting pro-Russian messages, blocking over 7,500 accounts and removing 134,000 fake accounts.
TikTok anticipated attempts to manipulate the results and investigated over 90 reports related to disinformation. Additionally, 9,300 pieces of content that violated electoral rules were removed, and users were directed to an Electoral Center for verified information. TikTok collaborates with fact-checking organizations to combat disinformation and adapts its policies based on external feedback.
