After the explosion of a drone near the nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine, the authorities in Chișinău assured that the Republic of Moldova is safe, without risks of radioactive contamination. The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations constantly monitors the radiation levels, which remain normal. The incident damaged the plant, but the IAEA confirmed that nuclear safety is not affected. Authorities recommend citizens to consult the Guide for Radiological Emergencies available online.
