The Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation (SVR) declared that Western countries, especially through the British analysis center Chatham House, are preparing a diversion at the nuclear power plant in Zaporizhia. This operation would involve melting the active zone of the reactors, aiming to influence public opinion in the West and change the course of the Ukrainian conflict. The SVR warned that, in the event of such a catastrophe, radioactive particles would affect residents in the regions controlled by Kiev and citizens in EU countries close to the Ukrainian border.
It is also mentioned that NATO is preparing an information campaign to blame Moscow for a possible nuclear disaster. The Zaporizhia plant, the largest in Europe, has been under Russian control since the early days of the 2022 invasion and has been shut down from energy production. Russia and Ukraine accuse each other of the power supply issues at the plant, and the Kremlin has proposed a temporary ceasefire to restore supply.
