In a joint conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the relationship with Romania is very good and that he likes Romanians. This was a response to questions regarding the withdrawal of American troops from Romania, about which Trump clarified that it does not represent a reduction in the number of soldiers, but a simple rotation of them in Europe.
Pete Hegseth confirmed that all changes were coordinated with the White House and that the troops will remain in Romania, emphasizing collaboration with European allies. Trump also mentioned that, although he does not agree with European immigration policy, relations with Europe are very good, highlighting a recently signed trade agreement worth 950 billion dollars.
