Senator Victoria Stoiciu, who resigned from the PSD after the announcement of the joint censure motion with AUR, stated on Digi 24 that many party members are dissatisfied with the leadership's decisions but are afraid to express their opinion.
She reported that she received discouraging messages, such as "don't commit suicide, pretend to be sick," from her colleagues in the PSD. Stoiciu emphasized that her mandate is not the property of the party and that social democracy is more present in her than in the current leadership of the PSD. She also stated that not all social democrats agree with the party's departure from the government and the submission of the censure motion, with voices fearing the prospect of an opposition without a clear plan to return to power. Stoiciu mentioned that her colleagues' reactions to her decision not to sign the motion were of fear and panic.
"My mandate is not the property of the party. No parliamentarian's mandate is the property of the party, to return it to the party now. I believe that social democracy remains with me and is no longer found in the Social Democratic Party. At the moment I announced to some that I would not sign the motion, they were so scared by my gesture. They told me: don't commit suicide, don't be crazy, pretend to be sick. They are afraid".
