The first vice-president of PSD, Victor Negrescu, stated on Saturday at Digi24 that he firmly rejects any collaboration with the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), arguing that such a government would have negative effects on Romania. Negrescu emphasized that an alliance with AUR could lead to a deterioration of relations with Brussels, blocking of European funds, and attacks on civil rights. He compared the possible government with AUR to the model of Hungary, highlighting the risks of undemocratic decisions and restrictions on freedom of expression. Criticizing both PNL and USR for proposals to include AUR in the government, Negrescu stated that there is no favorable current for such collaboration within PSD. The current political crisis was generated by the dismissal of the government led by Ilie Bolojan through a motion of censure initiated by PSD and AUR.
