PSD MEP Victor Negrescu criticizes the first messages sent by the PNL and USR after Siegfried Mureșan was designated for the position of prime minister and invites him to discussions with the Social Democrats. Negrescu claims that the parties that proposed the nomination are already preparing justifications for a possible failure of the negotiations and for the prolongation of the political deadlock.
The Social Democrat says that the PNL and USR are trying to portray themselves as victims, although they are in government and obtained the designation of the requested candidate. He also disputes statements that representatives of the right have yet to analyze the economic situation, asking what they have done so far in governing.
Negrescu says that the PSD will assess the governing program and the political context before deciding whether to support the future Executive. He asks Siegfried Mureșan to come to the PSD headquarters or to a locality elsewhere in the country to learn about the problems of real Romania and to give up his mandate as an MEP as proof of seriousness.
At the same time, Negrescu asks him to change his attitude toward the PSD and acknowledge that his previous discourse concerning the Social Democrats was wrong. The priorities mentioned include relaunching the economy, protecting jobs and purchasing power, supporting SMEs, unblocking investments, and absorbing European funds.
