Deputy Prime Minister Tanczos Barna: "In the Uz Valley is the birthplace of Simion and AUR. The extremists, if they had had a bit of wind at their backs, would have won and would have taken Romania in a completely different direction."

Tanczos Barna, the UDMR Deputy Prime Minister, stated that the rise of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) is directly influenced by the incidents in Valea Uzului, which took place more than five years ago. He emphasized that these events, along with those from the summer of 2019, had a significant impact on public perception and on the increase in AUR's popularity.

"Extremists, if they had had a bit of wind in their sails, would have won and would have taken Romania in a completely different direction. And we saw from the data provided by the Attorney General what tools they had at their disposal, what they built over the years, and we saw five years ago or even six years ago in Valea Uzului, where AUR was born, that is the birthplace of Simion, of AUR, they have had support since then, and I am convinced of this, even though we did not have clear evidence back then and no one looked for clear evidence that they were supported by Russia since then," Tanczos Barna stated.
