George Simion, the leader of AUR, made a call to citizens to exercise their right to vote until 9 PM, emphasizing its importance, which he believes is more effective than protests. In a press conference, he expressed concern about the influence of mayors in Buzău County on voters, claiming that they indicate to them who to vote for.
Simion mentioned that AUR is conducting a parallel count for both the elections for the Capital City Hall and for the Buzău County Council, estimating that it will be able to provide exact figures around 10 PM. He criticized exit polls and surveys, stating that they do not reflect the reality of the vote. Additionally, the AUR leader expressed optimism that, one year after the cancellation of the elections, Romania will be able to resume its democratic course and achieve national reconciliation.
