The governing coalition must decide on Monday how the reform of the administration and the economic relaunch package will be adopted. Initially, it was desired that the government take responsibility in Parliament for these measures, but the prime minister announced that it is also possible for them to be adopted through an emergency ordinance in the government meeting on Thursday, to come into effect immediately.

The government meeting on Friday was interrupted because PSD ministers, Florin Barbu, Alexandru Rogobete, and Bogdan Ivan, refused to sign the emergency ordinance regarding cuts in the administration. Tensions arose due to Romania entering technical recession.

The strongest attacks come from former prime minister Marcel Ciolacu, who believes that ”this coalition will not work if it continues at this pace”.
