PNL MP Raluca Turcan announced on Tuesday that the government led by designated Prime Minister Siegfried Mureșan will face a vote in Parliament, regardless of political statements. The announcement was made after a meeting of the liberal parliamentary groups attended by Mureșan and interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.
According to Turcan, the future Executive proposes a firmly pro-European Romania, with a strong rule of law and reformed institutions focused on citizens. The measures presented include a government with no more than three deputy prime ministers and three state secretaries in each ministry, the merger of public institutions, reducing bureaucracy, and decreasing the number of MPs based on the results of the latest census.
The program also includes ending the concurrent receipt of a pension and salary in the public sector, continuing the reform of special pensions, listing or privatizing certain state-owned companies, and reforming ANAF to combat major fraud and tax evasion. Turcan says that taxes and duties will not be increased next year and invites MPs to show through their vote what model of country they support.
