Liberal MP Raluca Turcan says the 182 votes secured for the investiture of the Siegfried Mureșan government, although representing a small share of the total 465 votes, reflect the aspirations of a majority of Romanians who want to modernize the country.
In a message published after the vote, Turcan said the support came from the PNL, USR and UDMR. She linked the result to voters’ desire for reforms, rules applied equally and an “honest Romania.”
The liberal MP also raised the possibility of holding early parliamentary elections, asking whether such a vote could demonstrate the rejection of the political model she described as “the shoebox Romania.”
Raluca Turcan congratulated Siegfried Mureșan, Ilie Bolojan, Dominic Fritz and Kelemen Hunor, as well as the MPs who supported the political project. She said the parties backing the government were not afraid of a vote and would continue pursuing reforms. Her message comes in the context of the parliamentary vote on the investiture of the new executive.
