Former Deputy Prime Minister Tanczos Barna says the UDMR could eventually provide Romania’s president amid rapid changes in international politics. He made the statement in an interview for the “In Your Face” program, which will be broadcast in full on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. on Digi24.
Asked whether the Republicans’ defeat in the United States midterm elections marks the end of the MAGA phenomenon, the UDMR senator said it was possible. He argued that the election result was influenced primarily by living standards, family stability and children’s prospects, rather than solely by political messages or aggressive communication on social media.
Tanczos Barna said voters in the United States, Romania, Hungary and other European countries base their political decisions on their own life experiences. “The world is changing at such a fast pace” that he has begun to hope the UDMR could provide Romania’s president, he said.
In the U.S. midterm elections, Democrats took control of the House of Representatives and the Senate, in a major setback for Donald Trump and his political agenda.
