Designated Prime Minister Siegfried Mureșan: “We will establish a single National Police, one type of police officer throughout Romania. We will establish a single point of contact between the state and the citizen”

Designated Prime Minister Siegfried Mureşan announced that he wants to establish a single National Police and have one single type of police officer throughout the country. He also stated that a single state service point for citizens would be established, and that vehicle registration, passport issuance, as well as other matters, would be handled at the same counter. 

"We will establish a single National Police, one single type of police officer throughout Romania. And now, when we go, for example, to renew our driver's license, or when our identity card has expired, or when we need to register a vehicle, we go from one counter to another. We will establish a single state service point for citizens; regardless of what you need—a national identity card, vehicle registration, passport issuance—for everything, you will go to the same counter and have a single state institution interacting with people," Siegfried Mureşan said Thursday on Radio România Actualităţi.
