How PNL, USR, and UDMR would have divided the ministries in the Mureșan Cabinet / Justice would reportedly go to an independent

PNL, USR and UDMR have reached a compromise on the division of ministries in the future Cabinet led by designated Prime Minister Siegfried Mureșan, according to HotNews and Digi24 sources. The Liberals are expected to receive seven portfolios, USR five, and UDMR three. The Justice Ministry would go to a recently retired judge, as a compromise solution between the parties.

PNL is expected to take over the Interior, Health, Energy and Labor, Finance, European Funds, and Education ministries. Mircea Abrudean has been proposed for Interior, Oana Gheorghiu for Health, Sebastian Burduja for Energy, and Raluca Turcan for Labor. Cătălin Predoiu, interim Justice minister and permanent Interior minister, does not appear in the new formula. Mihai Dimian is expected to continue at Education, current minister Dragoș Pîslaru will take the position at European Funds, while Nazare will continue at Finance.

USR is proposing Cătălin Drulă for Transport and is retaining its ministers from Environment, Defense, Foreign Affairs, and Economy. UDMR is expected to retain Development, Agriculture, and Culture. The Development Ministry will again be led by Cseke Attila, as will the Ministry of Culture, where Demeter Andras could remain, although sources such as Adevărul name Lorand Turos as a possible minister, against the backdrop of the controversies sparked by Andras in May.

After the article was published, UDMR announced that Ötvös Koppány would be proposed for Culture, instead of Demeter Andras.

The government would have three deputy prime ministers: Mircea Abrudean, Radu Miruță, and Tanczos Barna. Mureșan intends to submit the list of ministers and the governing program to Parliament on Saturday, with hearings set to begin on Monday and the investiture vote scheduled for Tuesday.

Designated Prime Minister Siegfried Mureșan met on Friday, at 12:00, with President Nicușor Dan at Cotroceni Palace, to present him with the governing program, while meetings are scheduled for the afternoon at PNL, USR, and UDMR to validate the program and the list of ministers. Thus, the list of ministers is only a draft and may still be changed after the meetings with the three parties.

A total of 233 votes are required for investiture, but the three parties together have 170 members of Parliament.
