PSD Senator Paul Stănescu denied on Saturday reports that he had negotiated with AUR for a leadership position in the party. He called the speculation that appeared in the press untrue and reaffirmed that he remains committed to social democracy and the PSD.
“As for the alleged negotiations over positions and political transfers, let me be clear: the information being circulated is not true,” Paul Stănescu said in a message published on social media.
The senator’s reaction comes after reports emerged that he had been offered a leadership position by AUR. The political party also denied that such discussions had taken place.
Paul Stănescu said that he does not change his values and beliefs according to political opportunities. “I have negotiated many things in my political life. But I have never put my convictions on the negotiating table,” the senator stated.
On the same day, the PSD Olt organization publicly expressed its support for him, highlighting his contribution to strengthening the party and the county branch. PSD Olt mocked the speculation with the message: “Anyone who doesn’t have a Paul Stănescu in their party should go find one. We have the original!”
