President Nicușor Dan stated on Wednesday, after the NATO Summit in Ankara, that the proposals for prime minister, Sorin Grindeanu and Siegfried Mureșan, have no chance of obtaining a parliamentary majority.

Nicușor Dan emphasized that he will not appoint a prime minister who does not have real chances of obtaining the necessary support to form a government. He recalled that, in the past, he had valid reasons to believe that the executive proposed by Eugen Tomac, namely the one led by Adrian Veștea, could be invested, but he specified that the current political context no longer allows such a perspective. The president emphasized that the responsibility for forming a parliamentary majority lies with the party leaders and he will not accept votes from AUR to support a future prime minister. He urged party leaders to present concrete solutions for forming a majority, emphasizing that delaying a decision prolongs the political deadlock.
