Siegfried Mureșan, MEP and the proposed Prime Minister of PNL-USR-UDMR, stated on Digi24 that Romania needs a government with full powers, emphasizing that an interim prime minister cannot solve all problems.
Mureșan denied the possibility of forming a majority PSD-PNL-UDMR government, stating that PNL will no longer collaborate with PSD due to a loss of trust. He proposed a minority PNL-USR-UDMR government or a minority PSD government. Mureșan criticized PSD for the failed attempts to install convenient prime ministers and emphasized that the responsibility for the lack of a government lies with those who submitted the motion of censure.
He also rejected speculation about a coalition with PSD, stating that PNL remains solid with USR and UDMR. Mureșan mentioned that a government of truce would involve discussions about the country's priorities, but he emphasized that he will not support a government that does not seriously assume national emergencies.
